I spoke in Braemar to a sweet young woman named Bridget, who is waiting for a word from her husband, Veimor, a hunter who was last seen in the woods north of here. I hope for her sake that the news I bring her is good; informing her that she is a widow would be a very sad task.
“I hope for her sake that the news I bring her is good; informing her that she is a widow would be a very sad task.”
I went to see Bodan Koren for more information.
“Bodan told me that Veimor, Bridget’s husband, lost his quiver outside their camp north of here; though there were signs he escaped to the northern woods Bodan is convinced there is little hope he survived.”
I seeked Veimor far and wide. At last I found him West Ravenswood. I took the southern road and I was ambushed by a band of kobolds. There was a kobold village in the center of the West Ravenswood. After spending a night in the woods I found Veimor, alive and well, in the next day. He was near the wolf’s den behind a big rock. I told him that his wife, “Bridget sent me.” When I head back to Braemar I found that southern road was much longer than the northern road…
“Veimor was the best ranger we had. And my best mate. He could shoot a sparrow out of the air on a windy day! And he had a brave heart too.”
So I took the northern road out of the forest and walked back to Braemar and told to Bridget Veimor is alive.
“I let Bridget know her husband Veimor was alive and would be returning home soon.”
